Silver at Night

Massimino longs for his own land, his own cottage, and his own harvest. But in the village where he lives, the landlord owns it all. To achieve his dreams, Massimino must leave his family and friends—including his beloved Perina—and sail across the ocean to a new country, to America, the country of dreams.

But life in this new world is not easy. Massimino earns his silver by spending long days deep in the coal mines. He misses his friends and his family and Perina. And then he gets a letter—promising him riches more precious than gold.
